Our Services

 

The Prenatal Clinic offers a variety of services to its patients to insure a healthy pregnancy.
All services are provided by our highly qualified staff, which includes:

  • Two Nurse Practitioners
  • Health Educator
  • Social Worker 
  • Trained Volunteers
  • Local doctors who volunteer some of their valuable time to the clinic

Patients deliver at either St. Joseph Regional Health Center or College Station Medical Center. 

Prenatal Care

Brazos Prenatal BabiesThe Prenatal Clinic provides medical care during pregnancy. Some basic services provided include physical examinations, distribution of prenatal vitamins, and laboratory work. Other services may also be available; however, other services are provided on an as needed basis to be determined by the nurse practitioners and physician staff who volunteer at the clinic.

Social Services

A social worker is available to aid patients in various ways. Social services, individual counseling, and income verification assistance services are provided.

Health Education

The clinic offers a comprehensive prenatal program that includes:

  • Prenatal Nutrition
  • Physical/emotional changes during pregnancy and birth
  • Prenatal and postpartum exercise
  • Preparation for labor and birth
  • Parenting skills
  • Breast-feeding
  • Newborn care and feeding
Postpartum Care

The Clinic is available to offer some medical care after the birth of the baby.

Referrals

The staff will make referrals on an as needed basis. Some of the referrals provided by the clinic are:

  • W.I.C. food supplement program
  • Dental Care
  • Family Planning care
  • Medical care not related to pregnancy
  • Medicaid and T.A.N.F. programs
  • Food stamp programs
